Organic Slicer Cucumbers from Hearts and Roots
A classic cucumber. Heartier, with thicker skin than its English cousin, this cucumber often needs to be sliced and peeled (though many do prepare them to eat with the skins via pickling, maceration or other treatment!).
Organic Potatoes from Oak Valley Organics
Local Honeydew from Green Acres Farms
Dense, tender and uber-sweet flesh! These local melons are pulling their weight and THEN some. Pair with a slice of salty prosciutto, blend into an unbelievably fresh melon smoothie, or cube and serve iced cold on a hot day! Cantaloupe can also be roasted to enhance its natural sweetness!
Spray-free Jalapenos from Wild Earth Farms
A staple as far as hot peppers go, but not toooo high on the heat scale! Jalapenos can be stuffed, roasted and blended into a delicious salsa with green tomatoes, pickled, preserved and fermented to be enjoyed for weeks to come!
Organic Patty Pan Squash from Blue Lagoon Organics
These saucer-shaped squash are as much fun to look at as they are to cook! They love to be roasted, grilled or seared in a cast-iron pan! Their skin is completely edible, so no need to ruin the aesthetic before you dig in!
Organic Celery from Blue Lagoon Organics
So much more flavourful than the import stuff, and tastier too! Don't forget to use any leaves that are left to pack in more celery flavour!
Spray-free Grape Tomatoes from Twin River Farm
Small and sweet, but typically a bit more acidic than Cherry tomatoes, these are perfect for snacking. They'll also blister beautifully in a pan, or lend some balanced substance to a salad or sandwich!
