Spray Free Cilantro from Slow River Garden

Typically a love-or-hate, we think there's always room to convert the non-believers! For even the most picky eaters, cilantro works beautifully as a base for sauces and marinades. A favourite is this unbelievably flavourful Caribbean Green Seasoning, which combines green onion, garlic, and a handful of other herbs into a marinade masterpiece.

Spray Free Romaine from Wild Earth Farms

Rinse all the lettuce then put in a salad spinner or use paper towel to dry, and place in a sealed bag in the fridge. Romaine isn't hard to use, you can put pieces in your sandwiches or wraps or make a simple caesar or garden salad! Try this Tomato Cucumber Salad with Feta!

Spray Free Cherry Tomatoes from Greenland Gardens

Pearly round or plum-shaped, tangy or sweet, red or gold, cherry tomatoes top off summer salads, sweeten party trays, and treat the kids.

Try our VEGGIE FILLED CHARD WRAPS using Chards and Tomatoes

Spray Free Carrot Bunch from Jonothan Farms

Spray Free Green Onion from Jonothan Farms

Sweeter and milder than mature onions, and more potent than scallions, these are perfect for slicing thin as garnish, caramelized over the grill, or turned into soup!

Check out this recipe for Creamy Green Onion Soup, and sub them in here!

Organic Yellow Potato from Oak Valley Organics

Yellow potatoes are slightly waxy in texture, velvety, and moist. Baking, mashing, or French fries, you name it!

Spray Free English Cucumber from Greenland Gardens

English cucumbers are sweet, slender, straight and have fewer, less noticeable seeds than many other cucumbers.

Try them in a quick Asian salad

Organic Green Kale from Blue Lagoon Organics

Rich, earthy and full of minerals. Kale is familiar to most! Check out our featured recipe at the bottom of the page where we blend kale with garlic scapes to make a tasty twist on pesto! Or maybe try to recreate our Kale and Quinoa Salad if you are up for the challenge.

Spray free Chives from Twin River

Spray-free Zucchini Flowers from Wild Earth Farms

As the biased author with Italian roots that I am, there's only one way to eat these (ok maybe a few with modifications). I grew up on fried zucchini blossoms every summer, whether as is or stuffed with fresh, homemade ricotta (which is also surprisingly easy and rewarding to make, if you're interested). Eat these as fresh as possible. You'll impress your friends and I promise they're as simple and delicious as they are elegant!

Spray Free Cocktail Tomatoes from Greenland Gardens

Slightly larger than a grape or cherry tomato (though some overlap is common), these half perfectly onto fancy toast or a salad all their own, char and pop perfectly in a cast iron to accompany soft scrambled eggs, and can even be halved and roasted with garlic and herbs for a rich side, or base for a sauce!

Spray Free Red Summer Crisp from Jonothan Farms

Very crisp like romaine, but sweet and juicy, without bitterness. The shape of the summer crisp plant is at first open, much like a loose-leaf lettuce, then matures into a heavy, compact bunch or head.

Let’s try a Red Lettuce Salad

Spray-free Flat Cabbage from Wild Earth Farms

Flat in form, but far from it in flavour! This cabbage is cultivated for its sweeter, tender leaves and is a favourite in stir fries, soups and stews. The leaves can be lightly cooked and used for healthy wraps, too!

Spray Free Celery Bunch from Slow River

So much more flavourful than the import stuff, and tastier too! Don't forget to use any leaves that are left to pack in more celery flavour!

Organic Yellow Potato from Oak Valley Organics
