Sour Cherry Chutney

Sour cherries slip out of sweets category and into savoury mode in this rich chutney!

Pair with rich meats such as duck, venison, bison, grass-fed beef and dark meat portions of poultry. This is everything we wish cranberry sauce was, and MORE so it's also great used in its place!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sour cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup red onion, minced
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue to simmer, stirring often,  until the fruit breaks down and most of the liquid has been absorbed (about 30 minutes).
