Fall Food Box--Week 2--
We hope you enjoyed your first week of the Fall Produce box program! Although we are winding down for local produce, your boxes are still filled to the brim with the freshest local produce around.

Organic Potatoes from Oak Valley Farms
Oak Valley Farms is a certified Organic farm located in Morden, Manitoba. They are inspected and follow COR (Canadian Organic Regime) No GMOs, seed treatments or synthetic products are used on any of their produce.

Organic Orange Carrots from Oak Valley Organics
Sweet, tender and fresh. Carrots are a staple this time of year, a crucial part of any soup, a great addition to roasts or even as a fresh snack with some of our Simply Crampton's French Onion dip.
Spray-Free Mint bunches from Twin River Gardens
Add Mint to pesto for a bit of zest. Also fresh salads can always be improved with some mint. Throw a few leaves in your water for an additional health boost. Or make Mojitos!
Spray-Free Thyme from Twin River Gardens
Thyme pairs well with lemon and is a great addition to any roast or steaks. Hang your bunch upside down in a cool dry place and have dried thyme all winter.
Spray-Free Beefsteak Tomatoes from Greenland Gardens
Some of the best tomatoes in Manitoba! Coming from Ste.Anne. So juicy and plump and perfect for BLTs or on burgers.
Spray-Free Green Kale from Jonathan Farms
Kale is a hearty green of the Brassica family that still thrives this time of year.
Unlike other vegetables that are grown in Manitoba, Kale can grow all year here. If you're a beginner gardener it is a great place to start (just watch out for aphids)
Spray-Free Cabbage from Jonathan Farms
Spray-Free Kabocha or Butternut squash from Jonathan Farms
Winter squash is buttery and creamy. All winter squashes can be substituted for each other. Puree in soup and add curry for a warm and creamy meal.
Spray-Free Shallots from Wild Earth Farms
Wild Earth Farms is based out of Bird's Hill, Manitoba. They have been apart of CSA programs for many years and provide beautiful spray-free produce. Shallots have a delicate and sweet flavour with a hint of sharpness, while onions bring a more intense heat.
