Spray-free Spring Mix from Wild Earth Farms
The classic blend, but fresh and local!
Spray-free Romaine Lettuce from Slow River Gardens
Organic Chard from Hearts and Roots.
Chard lies somewhere between spinach and kale in the 'greens spectrum' -- not as earthy or tough as kale, not as tender as spinach. This green is extremely versatile -- it can be sauteed, eaten raw in salad, and is delicious grilled over charcoal or on a regular grill. The stalks are traditionally prepared separately from the leaves, but who needs tradition!
Spray-free Cilantro from Slow River Gardens
Typically a love-or-hate, we think there's always room to convert the non-believers! For even the most picky eaters, cilantro works beautifully as a base for sauces and marinades. A favourite is this unbelievably flavourful Caribbean Green Seasoning, which combines green onion, garlic, and a handful of other herbs into a marinade masterpiece.
Organic Rhubarb from Blue Lagoon Organics
A Manitoba staple! Amazing in pies, reduced into a tasty syrup (you can make our Rhubarb refreshers at home (🤫) or just roll in honey or sugar and eat raw!
Organic Green Onions from Blue Lagoon Organics
If you missed it, Chef Cryssi whipped up some amazing recipes for these with some help from our Kitchen Team member Sophie last week!
Spray-free Red Beets from Jonathan Farms.
Sweet and nutritious! Beets are known for roasting and borscht, but they've also been known to sneak their way into a desert or two, lending rich sweetness, minerals and moisture retention! They're packed with minerals and dietary nitrates, which improve oxygen flow through the bloodstream and regulate blood pressure!
