Protein Shares August 8/9

Here's What You can Expect in this week's Protein Shares:

Regular Protein:

Bison Minute Steak - Bison is from Spring Creek Farms. It has been grass fed and tenderized so its thinner and faster to cook. Thaw completely, pat dry and season. Heat butter in a frying pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side. Another option is heating the BBQ to high, placing the meat on it, then turning it down to low. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side then let rest for a few minutes under a bowl before serving. Trout Fillet - Trout is from Watersong Farms in Warren, MB. Trout is a freshwater fish similar in taste to salmon. It can be cooked in the oven, or in foil on the barbecue. Follow this recipe for a Glazed Barbecued Trout. 

Gourmet Protein:

Bison New York Steak - Bison Steak is from Spring Creek Farms. This meat is grass fed, raised in a pasture and contains no animal by products or antibiotics. It can be cooked in a pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side and then let it rest under a bowl for a few minutes before serving. It can also be cooked on the BBQ: Heat to high, then put the steak on the grill, turn down to low and cook for 2-3 minutes per side. Let rest a few minutes before serving.
