Last CSA pick up of 2014
Down vests. All of our staff are coming into work wearing down vests these days. This chilly October weather is reminding us that it's time to pack up shop before the water pipes burst and we spend an abhorrent amount of money to heat our poorly insulated building. If you're feeling the same way, this week's CSA is for you. Time for warming comfort foods. Full shares to receive a minimum of 9 of the following items Bunch radish (spray free) Cherry tomatoes, spray free 1 hot peter pepper ...Yes, it really is called a Peter pepper :) sunchokes, organic Sunchokes are the tuber of a wild variety of sunflower. They are also called Jerusalem Artichokes. You can eat the tuber raw, boiled and mashed, roasted or turned into soups. They are a perennial plant in Manitoba and so if you plant some, they will come back year after year...whether you want them to or not.
